Leonard Klinck (J. George Klinck¹) was born on 14 January 1785 in Albany, New York and died on 17 October 1852 Princeville, Illinois. He was buried on 20 October, 1852 with full Masonic Honors. His was the first Masonic funeral held in Princeville. He was born and educated in Albany New York and was a school teacher when a young man. While still a young man, he went to Canada where he farmed and participated in the Canadian rebellion. According to the 1850 census, he was a tailor. His first wife was a Miss Emery.

Elizabeth Brown was born on 24 October 1782 in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James Brown and Mary Marr. She died on 22 October 1887 in Princeville, Illinois, two days short of her 105th birthday. She was buried on 25 October 1887 at Princeville, Illinois. She married first, Calvin Grant in 1802. Family history says that Calvin was uncle to General Ulysses Grant. She had two children by this marriage, Hannah and John.

Leonard and Elizabeth married in 1806 in Markham twp., York Co., Ontario. After they married, they lived on land on the east side of Markham twp., York Co., Ontario. In 1847 they moved to Troy, New York. In 1849 they moved to Princeville, Illinois.
