Please be patient while this site undergoes a major facelift!

Welcome to my website! I have tried to set up these pages to be easy to use, but with so much information, this is a difficult task. I am in the process of making the site easier to navigate. If you suspect you have a family connection and are not sure where to look, please use the search engine.

Shively Family Bits and Pieces

My Shively/Shivley/Shiveley family connection is Mary Shively, daughter of Christian Shively and Susanna Berger, who married Christopher Trippy. In my research, I have come across many Shively records that I saved in case they turned out to be related. Most have turned out to be very distant cousins. Here is where I will post these bits and pieces. I am descended from Christian Schaeublin Shively and Barbara Spittler who came to Philadelphia, USA on the ship the “Princess Augusta” on 16 Sept 1736 from Switzerland. If anyone has more to add or can connect these families, I would love to hear from you.

Genealogy of the Thrall Family
also of the Rose Family to the Year 1862
Poultney, Vt
printed by Randall Brothers 1890

I only have pages 38-55 of this book; they provide the history of Jonathan Rose and his wife Abigail who settled in East Granville Massachusetts in 1741. It names all of their children, and gives the history of their son Justus’ descendants for many generations.

Copies of the pages of the original book were given to me many years ago when a cousin was researching our family history. We have since discovered that this was the wrong family line, but these pages would be most valuable to anyone descended from this branch of the Roses.

The descendants of
Daniel Thorp / Thorpe

who was born on 25 March 1777, and died on 15 March 1837 at Genoa, New York.

Including the surnames Purdy, Welch, Deems, and others who married into this family. Also included are scanned images of the family bible records.

Henry Purdy Family Bible

This Bible dated 1820 was presented to a Mrs. C. Purdy by her friend Mrs. Boyd. The family records inside are as follows:

Henry Purdy Died March 26, 1881 on Saturday about 2 oclock in the afternoon
Gracie Purdy was born October 1872
Gracie Purdy Died January 13/1881 - The Baby Died about 6 oclock Thursday Evening

I did some poking on the internet and believe these people to be William Henry Purdy, his wife Caroline Sawyer, and their daughter Grace Eunice.

I have posted scanned images of these pages, as well as images of some of the treasures found within the bible. I hope this helps anyone researching this family line.

The ancestors, descendants, and cousins of
The Rev. Robert Kay and Amelia J. Cole

The ancestors, descendants, and cousins of
Clark Carley Swift and Oliver Lee Families

Who settled at Silver Creek, Chautauqua County, New York in the early 1800's.

I would love to hear from anyone interested in trading sources on the families I have posted here. There is much that I don't have and I don't always have the resources to get them. I am also looking for anyone who has photos of these people; I would like to post them on the website.
