Tintype of Charles ca. 1865 |
Charles Kay was born about 1815 in England, and died in January 1890 at Walden, New York. He was a wool spinner in both England and New York. He married first Susanna Ogden (b. about 1815 in England; died before the 1860 census at Walden, New York). They came to the US in 1848, and lived at New York City until moving to Orange County by the 1850 census. They had ten children (I don’t know if this number includes Hannah’s child): |

These two tintypes are not identified, but because of where they are situated in the album, I believe that this is Charles' second wife, Hannah Dawson, and their child, Richard. |
