Individual Note: "I found the grave of my great great great grandfather William Dye (on January 26, 2002) who some people thought was buried in Wayne County in an unmarked grave at Pleasant Grove cemetery near Cisne, Illinois (near his wife). So here I am in the Logan, Kansas cemetery, down on my hands and knees trying to read some indistinct lettering in the lower right corner of the head stone, right near the ground... It was "J?.R?. Williamson Flora III." I was thinking what the heck does Flora 3 mean, and who is this Williamson?, then it hit me, it was like a little voice inside of my head, but my father's voice.... "That's Flora, Illinois"... and J.R. Williamson is the company that made the headstone. My dad told me that his father (Fred) had this headstone made in Flora and sent out to Kansas many years ago (it seems like about 50 years since he told me about it).
Later I started reading some of the Dye obituaries that the local newspaper man gave to me and found that the funeral of Elmer Dye, in 1937, was attended by a Fred Dye and a W.D. Crippin, of Cisne, Illinois -- well that was my grandfather and Warren Crippin who was the preacher that grew up in my great grandfather's home and even married my mom and dad. (He was also an Undertaker and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives too. Amazing So while they were there for the funeral they noticed that grandfather William didn't have a headstone or at least a proper one, and when they went back home, they had one made and sent it there. "Elder" Crippen even preached the funeral, by the way. John Sullivan claims that it is the same Crippin that ran the Logan Republican for a while. (Later investigation revealed that the Crippin who was Publisher of the Republican was Arthur, Warren's father.)"
