Dear Candy,

I saw your information on George Reynolds at RootsWeb. I am trying to find if my gggrandmother, Polly Reynolds, is the sister of George Reynolds. Polly married Lyman Hewitt and they lived in Waterford Twp., Erie Co., PA.

I have done some research on the George Reynolds family. They were close neighbors of my father's family in Summit Twp., Erie Co. The Erie Gazette reported on 25 May 1848 that Elizabeth Reynolds, wife of George Reynolds, of Greene Twp., died 6 May 1848, age 39. (This area of Greene Twp. became Summit Twp. in 1854.) Nelson's 1896 History of Erie County, Vol. 2, p. 856, says that George Reynolds married Arminda Wobley, widow of John Lawson, in 1850; and that George died in 1883. Arminda was still living in 1896.

Do you have any information on George's siblings? Do you know anything about a Joseph and Sarah Reynolds who lived in Waterford Twp.? I will be happy to share information.

Sincerely,
Gary Osborn

I also assume a Mary Reynolds and another sister that married Powell were born to George and Aminda after the 1850 census because Hellen's obit names remaining relatives..sisters, Mrs Powell, Mary Skelton and half brother Clark.
