1875. As of that date he was married , with two children. He was a Civil War veteran of the 145th PA Volunteer Infantry, Co. F. Pension
papers were filed in 1888 in Kansas. Parents were Cyrus and Jane Richardson. George's father and my
2nd great grandfather were brothers.
George Richardson homesteaded east of Logan, Phillips Co., KS near Wolf Creek.
1880 Census: Shows George's father b. NH mother PA
Mary Jane died & left George a widower and C.J. was only a year old . In the pension
files, George states that he was living alone at a later date with his young
son (C.J.) whom he was unable to send to school as he needed his help on the
farm. George suffered from disabilites resulting from his Civil War
service..gunshot wound to the thumb at Battle of the Wilderness...
he also had sunstroke-- as well--later typhoid fever.

Major West, son of Alexander West, of Metomkin, was born in Accomac County Virginia. He received 200 acres of land from his father as a gift in 1726. In case he had no heirs this was to descend to his sister, Mary, and then to his brother, Scarburgh. He was under 21 in 1714 and he may have just reached his majority in 1726. We have no further record of him but he may have been the father of Benjamin West, who has been placed in the family of his brother, Scarburgh
