Farmer. Born in Ohio 1842. Came to Wisconsin 1846. Married 1859. Enlisted in 1861, 8th Wisconsin Battery. Was in the following-named Battles: Corinth, Perryville, Stone River, Chicamauga, Missionary Ridge, Lookout Mountain, Dalton, Kennesaw Mountain, Savage Station, Peach Tree Creek, Atlanta, and Savannah. At the Battle of Missionary Ridge a Federal Regiment captured a Rebel Battery. There was no one to load the guns. Mr. Barker and Andy Heenan volunteered and worked them effectually. Mr. Barker was mustered out in 1865. Married again in 1870. Wife died in 1889. Married the third time in 1890. Was in Pestigo Fire. An old Resident of Calumet County.
