Stockbridge Man To Say First Mass
Rev. Martin Fox Will Offer Rites in St. Mary Church
Stockbridge - Rev. Martin Fox, son of Mrs. Evelyn Fox, Route 1, Hilbert, will offer his first mass at 1 a.m. Sunday, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge.
Deacon will be Rev. Venard Hemauer, OFM Cap. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Orville Griese, pastor of St. Mary Parish, Brillion will preach the sermon.
He will be ordained Saturday by Most Rev. Stanislaus V. Bona, bishop of Green Bay, in the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier, Green Bay.
After Father Fox's first mass a dinner for close relatives and friends, will be served at noon, with a reception following for friends of the family. Rev. Henry Schmitt, pastor of St. Mary Church, Chilton, will be toastmaster. First priestly blessings will be given at the reception in the church hall from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Father Fox was born October 6, 1939 in Town of Stockbridge and was baptized in St. Mary Church. He received his primary education in St. Mary School, Stockbridge. He studied for the priesthood six years in Sacred Heart Seminary, Oneida, and six years in St. John Seminary, Collegeville, Minn.
