Fun continued Friday: All had a good cup of morning coffee and headed for the bus.
Hi, Ken and Barbara Calkins from Golden ,CO. In the back of the bus, three generations of Calkins Cousins who descended from Dorr Ellen Calkins from Michigan

There was a all day bus tour around Puget Sound starting with breakfast at the Internationally known Space Needle.
Jerry Calkins and his wife took this ship from Florida to Los Angeles, then hopped a plane to Seattle. Got here before the boat, just in time for the Reunion. Jerry and his wife took their motor home to the Norwich Reunion in 2000. Jerry is the Grandson of Dorr Ellen Calkins and my mother's first cousin. I first saw Jerry at a Calkins reunion in Houghton Lake, Michigan.

Breakfast was served on the stationary level. Minnie said, "We were the first ever as an organized family group to have breakfast at the Space Needle in its history." Cool!

Great Breakfast!
Then all took the elevators to the observation deck.
We then got on the buses and drove to the Ferry Docks. The buses were driven onto the Ferry, "The Tacoma". We crossed over to Brainbridge Island via the floating Hood Canal Bridge to get to the Historic Fort Worden State Park, a very historic place.
A great lunch was waiting. Blackberry cobbler and ice cream was my favortie! A Calkins Cousin, Jerry Farmer, a retired Park Ranger, gave a very interesting talk on the history of Fort Worden.

Webmaster's daughter, Terri Schiel Reade at Fort Worden.
We made it back to the Lodging safe after crossing over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge "Galloping Gertie"
Saturday an open Forum was held from 9:00 am until noon.
Many interesting Calkins Stories were presented to all present.
After lunch a Business Meeting was held and new officers were elected.(see July 2003 "Calkins World")
