Fairgrove Enterprise

Tramps broke into the Perkins schoolhouse, one mile east and two miles north of this village, on Saturday night. They lighted a fire and perhaps remained all night. They also stole a number of books belonging to the teacher, also several from the library which were either burned or carried away. ~Fairgrove Enterprise~ 01-28-1897



On Friday evening last, John Edgar Evans, while endeavoring to get on the ,south bound passenger train, while it was in motion, fell, and the rear wheels of the coach passed over his feet crushing them so that amputation was necessary. He rallied some after the operation, but Saturday afternoon grew steadily weaker, and about 24 hours after the aecident he died. Percy Is a Tough Bird
Having been killed in battle, dying in hospital from gas, being blown to pieces by an explosive shell, having both legs amputated, being blinded by a shot and being sunk by a submarine,Percy Ellison is home from France and is apparently as well as ever.~ Fairgrove Enterprise 05-30-1919



Bernard H. Cornell, editor of the Fairgrove Enterprise, and Miss Mary I. Thompson, a music teacher of Fairgrove, were married at the court house last Thursday by Justice Robt. Brown. Fairgrove Enterprise 06-08-1923
