
The following obituaries are from the Tuscola County Michigan which is located in the thumb area. Information on these Web Pages is to be used only for genealogical research or information. I have tried to include which newspaper I transcribed each obituary from, although I didn't save that information for each one. They are all from the Bay City Times, Saginaw News, Huron Tribune, Tuscola County Advertiser, Cass City Chronicle & Vassar Pioneer Times. I have also included some from the funeral cards of people I have a personal interest in. And a special Thank You to everyone that has sent me obituaries and ask that I include them on this site.

Death of John Landrigan
Died of consumption at his home one mile east and two and one-half
miles north of Cass City, on Monday, April 2,1894, at 1 o'clock p. m, John Landrigan, aged 51 years. Mr. Landrigan was born in Ireland
in 1843, coming with his parents to Lansdown, Ontario, when a child. When a young man he came to Michigan and settled on his present farm of eighty acres in this township. He was married to Mary M. Morrison in the year 1870, and by this union severn chldren were born. Mrs. Landrigan's death occured about four years ago. Mr. Landrigan alwasys engaged in farming and, being a hard-working man, had brought his farm to a hight state of cultivation, and erectred a brick dwelling and good barns theron. Mr. Landgrigan possessed many friends. He was outspoken-never going around the corner to speak his honest convictions-and was "as honest as the day is long". he dread disease which caused his death began to make itself felt about two years ago, since which time he has been able to work but little. The deceased leaves besides his children, a brother- Patric Landrigan- and three sisters-Mrs. James Ramsey, Mrs. Hugh Kinaird, and Miss Minnie Landrigan- to mourn the loss
of a kind and loving father and brother. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the Gagetown Catholic Church, and the remains were accompained to Elkland cemetery by the K. O. T. M. Tent, of this place, of which the deceased was a member. Undertaker McKenzie had charge of the remains. 04/06/1894
Geo. Higgins, one of the oldest pioneers of Elmwood, died at his home on Tuesday, May 9, at the advanced age of 84 years. Mr. Higgins was born in Kent Co., England and left his native land for Canada at the age of 17 years. On Jan. 5,1874, he was married to Miss Mary A. Watson. In the year 1863 they came to Michigan and bought a piece of wild land near Gagetown which is now the homestead. Mr. Higgins has always been strong and hearty up to four years ago when his health failed him. He was a member of the Methodist church and was a devoted Christian, a kind father and a loving husband. A family of six girls and two boys are left to mourn his loss. 5-19-1899
Onas Hutchinson was born May 16, 1815, in Jefferson Co., N. Y. From there he went to Canada with his parents where he lived until his marriage with Miss Sarah Ann May, when he returned to New York where he resided for a number of years and then moved back to Canada. While there his home burned and four of his children perished in the flames. In 1862 he came to Ellington where he has since resided. In 1863 his wife died and in 1864 he married Miss Lucinda Young. Early in life he sought an interest in Christ, and through life has been an earnest worker in the Methodist Church. He was ever a kind father and loving husband. Last winter he was taken with lagrippe and has since been fading away until May 22, when he passed to his reward. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his departure. Funeral was held on Wednesday from the Ellington Church 5-26-1899
