Isaac Harrison Whaley
 
       Isaac Harrison Whaley was born in Philadelphia on September 5, 1840. He moved with his parents to the Chesapeake area of Cecil County about 1848. On September 17, 1861 Isaac enlisted in the Civil War where he served the 5th Maryland Infantry, Company A. On October 27, 1864 he was wounded in the side and left temple at the battle of Fair Oaks. He was discharged form the Service on September 1, 1865.
    Isaac married Amanda Frances Hudson on August 13, 1867 in Cheaspeake City, Maryland. Isaac stayed in the Cheaspeake City area until about 1890, he then moved to Wilmington Delaware, to Elkton Maryland and finally to Camden, New Jersey. Isaac died of stomach cancer at the home of his daughter on September 25, 1915.

1) James H.: James was born in Cheaspeake City, Maryland in 1869. He died before 1898. It is not know if he ever married or had children.
 
2) William Nicholas: William was born about 1870 in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
 
3) Joshua E.: Joshua was born in Chesapeake City Maryland on February 11, 1878. He married Lizzie Patton and lived both in Wilmington Delaware and Paris, France.
 
4) Carrie E.: Carrie was born on June 18, 1874 in Chesapeake City, Maryland. She is my direct ancestor. About 1892 she married Joseph Langer Nicholson and they had three children: Violet May was born in Philadelphia on October 12, 1893, Frances was born in Philadelphia on June 3, 1896  and Florence.
 
5) Thomas Howard: Thomas was born in Chesapeake City, Maryland. About 1906 he married Helen and they lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey. They had five children. Thomas died in Atlantic City on June 19,1946.
 
6) Annie Jones: Annie was born on May 11, 1886 in Cheasapeake City, Maryland. About 1900 she married Robert Nelson. They had one child together, James (1902)
 
7) George Benjamin: George was born on February 6, 1889. Before 1912 he moved to New Jersey and married Ida. They had one sone together. Ida died between 1920 and 1930. George then married a widow, Elva Montague. George died in New Jersey in May of 1964.
 
8) Ella Elizabeth: Ella was born on July 20, 1881. She married Frederick Gotlieb Leuze about 1897. They had two children: Frederick Christian (1898)  and Herbert (1901). Ella died in New Jersey on September 12, 1946.
