John Siverd
 
      John Siverd was born in Lancaster County, Pa on April 26, 1830.  He was raised in Paradise Township, where he met and married his wife Susanna Boley. They were married January 5, 1854.
     Before 1864 John and his family moved across Pennsylvania to Indiana County. It is here he was drafted for the civil war. John was a woolen manufacturer by trade. He was well known for the quality of his work  and was respected throughout western Pennsylvania. 
    John and Susanna had eleven children, their daughter Melissa known as Lillie is my direct ancestor. Some of his ancestors still live in Indiana County, Pennsylvania today.
    Sometime before 1886 it is believed he moved to Waco, Texas. Why he would move to Waco or why his wife didn't accompany him is unknown at this time. John died in Waco on July 20, 1904 and was buried in Oakwood Cemetary.
 
The Children of John Siverd and Susanna Boley
 
1)John Boley: The eldest son of John and Susanna was born October 1, 1854 in Lancaster County Pa. On March 29, 1877 he married Mary Catherine Lydick. Together they had eight children: Robert L. (1879), Bert (1882), Pearl (1884), Dolly (1886), Meda (1889), Elsie (1893) and Claire L. (1897). John's trades including farming, retail merchandising and lumber. He died September 6, 1936 in Indiana County, Pa and is buried in the East Union Cemetary.
 
2) Jacob B: Jacob was born 1859 in Lancaster County, Pa. Sometime between 1880 and 1883 he moved to Des Moines, Iowa. It is here on September 13, 1883 he married Nettie Tears.  Jacob died on September 2, 1918 in Polk County Iowa and is buried in Glendale Cemetary in DesMoines.
 
3) George : George was born in Lancaster County, November 1859. He married Clara Pion. He and his family moved around quite a bit before settling in New Orlaens. His known children are: Alice (1883), Arthur William (1887) Florence, (1892) and Clarence Eugene (1898).
 
4) Eli Frank: Frank was born in April 1859 in Lancaster County. About 1882 he married Eva , they had two known children: Charles F. (1884) and Albert S. (1885). He lived most of his married life in Springdale, Allegheny County, PA.
 
5) Elmer Ellsworth: Born February 1861 in Pennsylvania. Elmer married Susan Overbeck Lyle about 1893, possibly in Jefferson County, Pa. Elmer and Susan had five children. Three of which are known at this time: John (1895), Amelia May (1897) and Edith (1902). From all indications Elmer moved to Jefferson County before 1893 and spent the remainder of his life there.
 
6) Ulysses Grant: Grant was born on October 14, 1864 in Chambersville, Cambria County, Pa. On January 13 1886 he married Nannie Knox Marcy. Their only child was Percy Dwight Siverd, he was born in 1889. Before 1890 Grant and his family moved to Pittsbugh and later to Crafton, both in Allegheny County. He was a tennis coach at Duquesne University and also was employed by Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. At one point in his life Grant palyed against tennis great Bill Tilden. Grant died in Crafton Allegheny County on November 21, 1955.
 
7) Melissa Lillian: Lillie is my direct ancestor and was born February 1, 1865. Although her given name was Melissa she went by Lillian or Lillie throughout her life. She married James Davis about 1883 and they had 10 children together. Lillie died in Allegheny County, Pa after 1930.
 
8) Harris : Born in Pennsylvania about 1866. Alsmost nothing in known of Harris except that he died before 1913.
 
9) Madusa : Madusa was born October 1871.  Her husband was Samuel Davis who was born October 1870. They married in Allegheny County on August 2, 1894  She was living in Pittsburgh in 1909,1913 and 1936. They have one known child, Robert S (1899).
 
10) Matilda: Matilda was born in Pennsylvania on November 25, 1872. In 1899 she married Lee Hurt, probably in Louisiana or Arkansas. They had one child. Lee died before 1930. Matilda moved from Texas to California between 1930 and 1936 where she married a man named Nau. Matilda died in Los Angeles on March 30,1950.
 
11) Robert:  Robert was born in Pennsylvania in October of 1869. Very little is known about him other than he was living in Wheeling, West Virginia between 1909 and 1913. he died before September 1936.
