The oldest known family member was believed to be John Tillery (b. 1625 d. ?) and from Aberdeen Scotland. I have not been able to verify this, and have only found evidenance of my first known ancestor being Samuel Tillery ( b. 1702 d. 1728). His parents are unknown, and may be related to earlier generations. Many early Tillerys were in North Farnham Parish, Toutusky Creek, Richmond County, VA prior to 1750. The Tillery family, generation after generation, moved through Virginia, to Georgia, and finally settled in Knox County, TN in the early 1800's. They were a very prosperous family, and community leaders.
