WILLARD L. FREEMAN, 84, of Ona went to his heavenly home July 17, 2002, from Cabell Huntington Hospital. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Rev. Buddie Mills and Rev. Simon Morrison officiating. Burial will be at White Chapel. He was born December 28, 1917, in Ona‚ a son of the late James and Rachal Shultz Freeman. He was a member of the Mount Union Baptist Church and served as a trustee. He was retired from ACF Industries. He was preceded in death by one son, Denver "Chuck" Freeman; three brothers, Morton, Glen and Ralph Freeman; and two sisters, Ivy Stevens and Audrey Nowlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Freeman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Larry Estep and Vickie and Matt Sigman; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Ed and Sharon Freeman, Steve and Helen Freeman, Don Freeman and companion Ruth Ann Wyant and Connie Freeman; one sister, Maye Nowlin; one sister-in-law, Opal Argabrite; two brothers-in-law, Arie Davis and Nile Nowlin; ten grandchildren, Tammy and spouse Eric Wintz‚ Brian and spouse Rhonda Freeman, Chad and spouse Melody Freeman, Nikki Freeman, Brad Estep and fiancee Rhonda Gore, Cyndi Estep, Steven and Zach Freeman and Brooke and Brice Gibson; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristyn Wintz and Braxton Freeman. Family members will serve as pallbearers along with Brice‚ a special little pallbearer for his Pawpaw. Our precious dad was a veteran of WW II. He served as a medic and was awarded the Silver Star. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, July 21, 2002, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.

This is Rachel Harbour. I have noticed that you have put some queries on the Mason CO List about your John G. Fry. You know that he was married to our Drucilla Rowsey and in 1870, they lived in Lincoln co next door to her son and his daughter-who are your great grandparents.
I found his death recorded in Putnam co. So maybe if you looked there you could find the parents of John G. Fry. He and Drucilla lived next door to Henry and Letha in Milton in 1880. He died 8 March 1888- 69 years 11months and 4 days.. He was a farmer- born in Va-died in Milton of Dysentery after being sick for 10 days. He had lived in WV for 28 years.--Hall was the undertaker.
Do you know where he and His first wife lived in 1850? They must have just come to WV when the 1860 census was taken if he had only been there 28 years when he died. They are on the 1860 census-family #644 is what I have written down. Their 2 daughters are 12 and 10. I have John Fry's first wife is Elizabeth Paine.
You probably have all this but thought I would send it anyway.
