Widely Known Citizen Passes in Hospital; Rites Tomorrow

Florance L. Enslow, 74 years old, 2657 First avenue, widely known citizen and a son of one of the earliest Huntington families, died in a hospital at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He entered the hospital December 13.
Mr. Enslow was born in Scioto county, Ohio, February 28, 1860. In 1870 he came with his parents, Ravilla and Sophia Andre Enslow to reside on a farm within what was to be the new city of Huntington. The Enslow estate was part of what is now Highlawn where Florance L. Enslow resided.
Educated in the public schools, Mr. Enslow later learned the machinist's trade at the Chesapeake & Ohio shops where he worked a number of years. His longest period of service, however, was at the plant of the American Car & Foundry Co. He retired 14 yeas before his death.
He was a memer of the First Methodist Episcopal Church and of the Modern Woodmen of America.
In early life he married Martha McClure of Gallup, Ky., who died in 1902.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. W. S. Rogers, and two brothers, J. M. and Frank E. Enslow, both of Huntinton.
Another brother was the late Dr. C. R. Enslow.
The father of this family was for many years actively engaged in Huntington and elsewhere as a paving contractor.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery.
