Widely Known Real Estate Man Succumbs Unexpectedly --
Funeral Tomorrow

G. Towns Davis, 48 years old, member of one of Huntington's oldest families
and a veteran builder here, died unexpectedly last night at 9:30 o'clock at
his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the
residence of his brother, B. T. Davis, Jr.,of 1006 Twelfth avenue, with Rev.
A. L. Currie, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial
will be in Spring Hill cemetery.

Veteran of World War

Mr. Davis, who had long been in the real estate and contracting business
here, had built hundreds of homes in the city, and was most prominent in
building activities during the height of the city's expansion some years ago.
He was a World war veteran, having had ten months of service in France during
the war, and was a member of Huntington post No. 16, American Legion.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian church but had long attended Sunday
school at Johnson Memorial M. E. church, south.

Father Survives Him

Mr. Davis, whose family was among the pioneer residents here, was born in
Huntington on September 27, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Davis. The
father, who survives him, is one of the best known men in the section, having
long been in the drug business in Huntington. The father is a Confederate
veteran.
Besides the father, he is survived by the widow; another brother, Comer
Davis; an aunt, Miss Annie Comer, and a niece, Miss Annie Comer Davis.
