Ada Carter died in 2002. ADA OSBORNE, 84, of Ona went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at her residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Bill Davis and Minister Pete Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lowell and Bessie France Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Osborne and two sisters, Dorothy Doddridge and Muriel Hedrick Chapman. She was retired from the Cabell County Board of Education with 35 years of service as a cook at Ona Elementary. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Judie Hicks of Ona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Linda Osborne of Culloden and Gary and Juanita Osborne of Clarksburg; four grandsons, Bane Hicks, Todd Osborne, Kevin Osborne and Allen Osborne; one granddaughter, Erin Osborne; and one great-granddaughter, Chelsie Hicks.
