Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Vance officiating. Emmett was born August 21, 1921,
in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Dovel E. and Ora Myers Burcham. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Burcham; one
son, Jeffery Burcham; and his third wife, Catherine Burcham. He is survived by
one son, Emmett R. Burcham Jr.; five daughters, Kathy Burcham, Kay Jenkins, Brenda
McIntire, Patricia Sexton and Renee Brunty; one sister, Vivian VanHoose, 14 grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Fox-Fairview
Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral
Home, Chesapeake.
