of Union Ridge, Cabell county, departed
this life September 4th, at 5 a.m., after an
illness of only a few days.
Typhoid fever first set in, followed by
paralysis.
This loss to husband, and children, and
neighbors can not be reckoned, for she was
almost a perfect woman in every respect --
a loving wife, an affectionate mother, and a
kind, sympathetic neighbor and friend. So
all have suffered a great, great loss.
She was only 36 years of age, in the prime
of womanhood, of robust health up to her
last illness. She leaves with her husband
four darling little daughters, the youngest
four years old.
And thus it is that one is gone,
And crossed the River o'er,
And thus it will be at brightest dawn,
We'll miss her more and more;
But then again at even tide,
When we are seeking rest,
She'll come again and be our guide,
And then we'll know "twas best."
