Ruth Lambert Pierson French passed away April 5, 2002, peacefully in her sleep at the residence of her daughter in Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Leslie French, her parents, Fred B. and Nannie Peyton Lambert, brothers Don W. Lambert, Homer F. Lambert and Charles E. Lambert; sisters, Pearl Hoek Neal, Dexter Harrington, Estelle Hanger and Myrtle Drummond. She is survived by two daughters, Irene Pierson Frazier of Huntington and Patricia Pierson Pugh and husband Greg Pugh of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandsons Neal P. Frazier of Cleveland, Ohio, Paul E. Frazier and wife Leigh of Frisco, Texas, David M. Frazier of Huntington and Christopher T. Hedrick of Virginia Beach Va.; great-grandchildren, Tanuee, Cade and Evan Frazier of Frisco, Texas. Ruth is survived by two sisters, Gladys Dorr of Proctorville, Ohio, and Dolly Byrne of Falston, Md.; one brother, Henry Lambert of Lavalette, W.Va.; many loving nieces and nephews and her very special caregiver, Doris Mayo. Ruth was born in Cabell County on January 24, 1906. She was a graduate of Morris Harvey Academy and Marshall University. She attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and Ohio State University. She was a dedicated Cabell County elementary school teacher for 41 years, a 50-year member of the Barboursville chapter of the DAR, an avid bridge player and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Huntington.

The family would like to express it's heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Huntington for their help. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 14, 2002, in the chapel at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. David Erenrich officiating. Henson Mortuary of Barboursville was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, Huntington, WV.
