Ethel Morris Justice⁽¹⁾ was born on 31 Jan 1894 in Milton, Cabell Co., WV. She died on 13 Feb 1924. MRS. ETHEL GAY

Mrs. Ethel Gay, 30 years old, one of Milton's best known and most popular young matrons, died at a Huntington hospital about six o'clock Wednesday evening, following an operation performed a few days before. She became suddenly ill on Friday and was rushed to the hospital immediately in a final effort to save her life. After the operation her condition slightly improved. But she was fighting against overwhelming odds and lost the battle for life. Mrs. Gay, who was Miss Ethel Justice before her marriage, was born in Milton, January 31, 1894, the daughter of James A. and Mollie E. Justice, she attended the common and high schools of this place. For several years she was a student at Marshall College, where she was graduated from the normal school course in 1914. After her graduation, she taught in the rural schools of Grant district. She was united in marriage with Aubrey L. Gay, of Virginia, June 16, 1916. To this union vere born two sons, James Howard and Wyatt Gay, who survive the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Gay made their home in Huntington until some two years ago when they moved to the Justice Inn Apartments on Main street at this place.
Mrs. Gay is survived by her husband, A. L. Gay, two sons, James Howard Gay, 7, and Wyatt Gay, 5, her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Jas. A. Justice, and her grandmother Mrs. Emma Morris, all of this place. Funeral services will be conducted at Justice Inn, the home of Mrs. Gay's parents, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Milton cemetery.
