Phyllis Chrystine Holtzworth, 86, of Huntington, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001, in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born July 12, 1915, in Charleston, W.Va., the daughter of the late Llewlyn and Edna Leach Whitehurst. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. "Rudy" Holtzworth Jr., to whom she had been married 57 years at the home of his death in 1993. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Lois Gordon in Richmond Calif., and Jane Mills in Charleston W.Va. She is survived by one sister, Dottie Coffman of Florida; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gretchen and Greg Foster and Jo Ellen Holtzworth; one son and daughter-in-law, Rudolph III "Hank" and Susan Holtzworth; five grandchildren, Philip, Tim and John Foster, Christina Black and Marie Sanders; five great-grandchildren, Brianna, Alexa, Christian, Ian and Issac; and two stepgrandchildren; Nicole and Will. Mrs. Holtzworth graduated from Charleston High School, attended Radford College in Radford Va, and received her teaching degree from Marshall University. She was a member of Pea Ridge United Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted Friday at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Jerry Maguire. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington.
