Dear Aunt Emma ---I thought I would write you a few lines we are well and hope you’re the same.  This is a picture of our house, look on this picture and you will find letters, telling which is north & south.  It faces the east.  Well aunt Emma I am almost ashamed to write a scratch, but I got up courage and sent this card as far as aunt marys.  So you must excuse me  this time I will try and write you a big long letter, that will take all day to read it.  Well I wish  I was out there or you were here  Good by       (There is no sender name)

In an email from Gigi Jacobson, she wrote; "The house in the photo is the east side of the Betts' home.  Jonathan Whitney Betts married Samantha Rebecca Kinsey, the first child of Mark Bogue Kinsey and Mary Ann Price.  John and Samantha lived on a farm 1mile south and about 3 miles west of the Kinsey's. ( Mark Bogue and Mary Ann's' farm was located in the northwest corner of Buffalo Township, Jewell County, Kansas.)"  Saturday, July 24, 2004
