                Oct 2

                Dear Sister Emma and family I will at last write you a few lines to let you know how we are .  we are not very well today.  Hope this will find you all well.  Oh my just think 3 weeks abo this morning how happy we were and how soon it was turned to great and sorrow.  You see that morning Fred was coming after us in the auto so I phoned to him and he said he would be here at ten oclock, and Pa said oh that will be awful late.  Ma said well it will take me and Hattie along time to get ready

 So he went to shaving and Frank turned the horses out of the Stable to turn them in the pasture and they past the gate and went past the house and Pa went out to turn them back and if corse he walked to fast and he stoped and put his hand on his breast and drawed 2 or 3 long breaths and when he got back in the house he finished shaving and washed and dressed.  And about that time we had hot water and he said he felt prety bad So I phoned to Fred and told him.  Then phoned for the Dr  I told him to come quick and be sure and bring plenty of brandy he said he would be here In 3 minutes and before the Dr got her Ma bathed his feet in mustard water and the Dr…..
