William Burgin

William Burgin was born c1733 (he was 76 when buried in 1809). There is no record of a christening for William in the Flaunden area, so he may not have been from there. (There is a William Burgin christened in 1732 in nearby Berkhamsted, so this may be him).

William married twice, first to Catherine Craught on 14th December 1759 at Kings Langley Church.
They had one child:

Catherine died in 1761 and was buried on 14th June 1761 at Kings Langley Church.


His second wife was Sarah Judge, of Flaunden. They married at Flaunden Church on 31st July 1765.

William was listed on the Hertfordshire Militia Lists for Bovingdon, Kings Langley and Flaunden, between 1759 and 1778. It is not known exactly where he lived in these villages.

William died in 1809, said to be aged 76. He was buried on 21st April 1809 at Kings Langley Church.
I have not yet found out when Sarah died, or where she was buried.
