John and Sarah Burgin

Jonathan Burgin (1867-1952)	Sarah Ann Gutteridge (1871-1952)

Jonathan Burgin was born in Bovingdon on 16th May 1867, to Richard and Harriet Burgin. He was baptised at Bovingdon Church on 14th October 1881, aged 14.	Sarah Ann Gutteridge was born in Chesham on 4th July 1871, to Frederick and Charlotte Gutteridge. She was baptised at Bovingdon Church on 6th August 1871.

John and Mary married at St Johns Chapel, Northchurch (now Bourne End parish church) on 25th December 1889.
They had eleven children:

John was a ploughman on the 1901 census, probably at the nearby Marchants Farm. He later had a smallholding at Pudds Cross, before moving to live at Green Lane. They lived at Park View, which was one half of a house, previously the Red House beerhouse. Their son Jack later moved into the other half with his family.

John died 20th January 1952, aged 84. He was buried on 24th January 1952 at Bovingdon Church.
Sarah died 30th April 1952, aged 80 years. She was buried 3rd May 1952 at Bovingdon Church.
