I was just checking out the website you sent me and its fantastic. Some questions I can help with.There are no Indians buried in the old French Creek Cem. that anybody knows about. The only Indian massacre that took place in what is now Upshur Co. was at the Indian Camp Rocks about 1773. According to McWhorter's Border Settlers of Northwest Va, William White, John Cutright,David White and John Truby surprised and killed about nine Indians here. The bones were discovered about 1820, so this is probably the truth. Bush's fort was abandoned 1n 1782 after Indians led by the traitor Timothy
Dorman killed the great scout William White. White was the last settler killed by Indians in the County. By the time the New England settlers arrived about 1800, there were no Indians in the county.I don't think that Samantha died in Bone Gap, Illinois,she is buried at Indian Camp Cemetery. Nathon went to Illinois to visit his son Freeman, and died there in 1855. I'm not sure but think that his body was later returned to the old French Creek Cemetery.
I see you know about Cecil Gould's marriage to Wilda Tenney. It was in Wilda's ancestry that I found Dec. of Independence signer John Hart of New Jersey. It was because of this marriage that my friend Trish, her name is Latricia Ann, not Lucretta, has about 13 Revolutionary War Veterans in her ancestry. Very saddened by the death of racing legond Dale Earnhart, he was one of my heros. Will write more later on the children of Charles Gould and Plumabelle White.
