This is what is known today as Ashfield Town Hall. This picture taken late 1800's shows it in it's current place after it had been moved from the top of the hill behind it. It was built and occupied in it's original place in 1814, it was moved in 1856.
Simeon Phillips was one of the persons on the "Building Committee" along with; Dr. Enoc Smith, Elijah Paine, Ephraime Williams, Thomas White, Capt. Bethul Lilly, Levi Cook, James Andrews Jr., Abner Kelly, Nathaniel Homes, Joseph Hall, Elisha Wing, Capt. Benjamin Gates, Daniel Williams, Roland Sears and Capt. SamualDunham.
The building is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
