The Prickly pear has been seen in Tinicum Bucks County and we were fortunate to photograph it growing in Delaware Twp NJ in the bluffs overlooking the Delaware River.

The Prickly Pear cactus is the state cactus of Texas.

Found throughout the American Southwest, different species occupy desert, mountain, and even forest regions down into Mexico and up into Canada. Most have spines and they range in height from a few inches to 6 feet or more.
