PASTOR'S RESIGNATION NOT ACCEPTED
The consistories of the Old Goshenhoppen Reformed charge met
at Keelor's church last Saturday and refused to accept the
resignation of their pastor, Rev. J.L. ROUSH. Previous to the
meeting congregational meetings had been held by the Keelor's,
Old Goshenhoppen and Sumneytown churches and each of these
congregations decided unanimously not to accept the resignation.
The consistory of the Pennsburg congregation had circulated a
petition against the acceptance of the resignation. This was
signed by 157 members. The majority of the consistory of this
congregation, armed with the petition, were in attendance at the
meeting last Saturday and the meeting was a unit in refusing to
accept the resignation of Rev. ROUSH.

Upcoming History Book for Miami Township
A recent article in the Miamisburg-West Carrollton News talked
about an upcoming book in honor of Miami Township's 175th
Anniversary Celebration in 2005.
The book, Miami Township, published by Arcadia Publishing, is a
pictorial of the township and offers stories about its
beginnings. Part of the introduction actually includes the
description of Miami Township from The Combination Atlas Map of
Montgomery County, Ohio published in 1875. An excerpt from the
newspaper said, "Maps, documents and pictures allow the reader
the opportunity to envision the township during the early years
when roads and homes were dreams to be built." Photographs
mentioned include Fox family, Benner Tavern, Cottman-Baker House,
Joseph Dryden Farm, Aaron Gebhart, Sarah Leis Gebhart, and many
others.
The article stated that a release celebration for the book is
being planned for December 9th at the Dayton Mall. "At that time,
the book will become available at several local bookstores as
well as through the publisher." Also according to the article,
"the book can be ordered through Arcadia Publishing for $19.99 at
http://www.arcadiapublishing.com or by calling 1-888-313-2665."
