CATHARINE WENTZ BLEAM 

CATHARINE (BENNER) WENTZ BLEAM of Quakertown died Friday, July 11, 2003, in St. Luke's Bethlehem Hospital, Lehigh County. She was 91.

She was the wife of the late ROBERT WENTZ and the late RAYMOND W. BLEAM.

Born in Harleysville, she was a daughter of the late JONATHAN K. and MINNIE G. (SWARTLEY) BENNER.

Catharine was a dietary supervisor for Allentown State Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 1977. Previously she worked for Quakertown School District in the Richland Elementary School cafeteria.

She was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Quakertown, where she was active on the kitchen committee, Quilter's Circle and the Sunshine Sisters.

A member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees, Catharine also was a volunteer with Quakertown Grand View Hospice and Peter Becker Community in Harleysville.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, in First Church of the Brethren, Quakertown. Family and friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Quakertown.

 

Dorothy A. Benner

Dorothy A. Benner, 87, of Trexlertown, formerly of Quakertown, died Friday, May 26, 2006.  Born in Geryville, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie (Rothrock) Wimmer.

Wife of the late Harold G. Benner.

 

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley.

Anna G. Benner, formerly of Sellersville and Telford, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998 in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Township. She was 84. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Ethel M. Benner

Ethel M. Benner of Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville, died Wednesday at Peter Becker Community, Harleysville, where she was a temporary resident following several weeks in the hospital. She was 84.

She was the wife of 37 years to the late Norman B. Benner who died in 1970.

Born in Royersford, Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late William and Martha (Kolb) Weaver. She formerly lived 17 years in Glenwood Springs, Colo. and was previously a longtime resident of Blooming Glen. Mrs. Benner had worked as a seamstress for the former Schoenemann Clothing Factory, Souderton and the former H. Dariff & Son Clothing Factory of Dublin. More recently she was employed several years as a dietary aid at Valley View Hospital, Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She was a longtime member of Perkasie Mennonite Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and an active participant in sewing circle and other activities. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.

She was predeceased by one daughter , Doris Benner in 1991; two sisters, Verna Keeler and Ruth Reed; and two brothers, David Weaver and Raymond Weaver.

Viewing hour will be Saturday, 1 to 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rockhill Mennonite Community, 3250 State Road, Sellersville. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Perkasie Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Perkasie Mennonite Church, 320 W. Robert Wesley Benner

Robert Wesley Benner, a resident of Oreland for 41 years, died December 12, 1999 in Chestnut Hill Hospital. He was 75. Born in Allentown, Pa., he was the son of the late Ida Coffin and Robert D. Benner. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations.

Mr. Benner worked as a knitting mechanic for many years at the former Bergman Company in Philadelphia, where he also designed patterns that were put on sweaters and other articles of clothing. He then worked on the roller assembly at the former Hope Industries in Willow Grove.

He retired in 1990 and continued to enjoy his hobbies which included oil painting and auto mechanics.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Rd., Abington. Friends may call Wednesday after 10 a.m. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.> Date of Death: 1999-12-12 00:00:00

Melba V. ‘Tillie’ (Slotter) Benner of Richlandtown, Bucks County died December 14, 1999 at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital. She was 82. The funeral service will be Friday, December 17 at 11 a.m. at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown. The viewing will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Richlandtown.

Richard L. Benner

Richard L. Benner of Quakertown, Richland Township, died Sunday, December 26, 1999 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was 62. Born in Quakertown, he was the son of Beatrice (Crouthamel) Benner of Quakertown and the late Donald Benner.

He was a supervisor for over 30 years at Brooks Instrument in Hatfield. Mr. Benner was a member of St. John’s UCC in Richlandtown, the North Penn Beagle Club in Haycock Township, and D&D Hunting Club in Wellsboro.

He was predeceased by a sister, Donna Weisel.

Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2000 at the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2000. Lizzie Benner

Benner, Lizzie, wife of John D. Benner was born Sept 3, 1863. She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Derstine) Detweiler, being born in Montgomery Co., PA. She united with the Church at Rockhill at the age of twenty-one; married March 19, 1902, (being his second wife) by Bishop Josiah Clemmer. Her health failed for the last few years. She was forced to bed twelve days prior to death on March 30, 1938, at her home. Funeral services were held at the Souderton Church. Text, Rev. 14:13, Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Ralph N. Benner

Ralph N. Benner, 52, of Solebury Township, Pineville, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 16, 2000 at Doylestown Hospital. He was a life-long resident of Bucks County.

He was the husband of J.Renee (Anders) Benner. They had celebrated 29 years of marriage in November, 1999.

Born in Newtown, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Nice) Benner. Mr. Benner was a 1965 graduate of Council Rock High School. He attended the Souderton Mennonite Church.

Clifford Y. Benner, of Hilltown Twp., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at his home. He was 72.

He was the husband of Marie (Diehl) Benner. The couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2001.

Born in Hilltown Twp., he was the son of the late Henry H. and Leah (Yoder) Benner.

Mr. Benner was employed as a voting machine technician for the County of Bucks until retiring in 1994. Prior to that, he worked for Lansdale Transportation for 20 years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Telford, where he served on the church council and was an usher for many years.

Robert L. Benner of Richlandtown died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at his residence. He was 91.

He was the husband of Eleanor (Cooper) Benner to whom he was married 53 years on Sept. 11, 2001.

Born in Philadelphia on Oct. 9, 1910, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Nancy H. (Lehman) Benner.

A graduate of Germantown High School in 1928, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in 1932.

Mr. Benner moved to Glenside in 1951 and to Abington in 1967. He also was a lifelong resident of Ocean City, N.J.

Services and interment are private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the United Methodist Conference Pension Fund, c/o Quakertown United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Frier Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 would be appreciated.

Mrs. Fanny Benner (nee Wite) died suddenly Monday morning, Dece. 30, (1963) in Lower Bucks County Hospital. She was the wife of Linfred c. Benner, 1442 Durham Road, Penndel.

Mrs. Benner and her husband owned and operated a farm on Trenton Road, Middletown Twp. Now Levittown. They have resided at their current address for the past 10 years. Mrs. Benner was a member of the Neshaminy Methodist Church.

Survived by a siser, Mrs. Jesse T. Osmond, Newtown and two brothers, William and James White of Cornwells Heights.
