MORRISVILLE
Morrisville Borough
Morrisville Government |
Named for Robert Morris, financier of the Revolution, who lived there for some time.
...It was quite a long while before Morrisville had a name. Being close at hand to that very indefinitely defined territory known as the "Falls of Delaware," its early inhabitants may never have thought it necessary to adopt another name. It is pretty certain, however, that when Patrick Colvin in 1722 (1772*) bought the ferry, it was named Colvins
Ferry and was so known through the Revolutionary period.. |
