Richard Sayres was taxed nine shillings in corn, at six shillings per bushel, in Plymouth, MA on March 25, 1633. In 1638 he received a grant of four acres of land "where he had formerly planted," in Marblehead, MA and early in 1639 was among those who accompanied his brother-in-law Anthony Thacher in the founding of Yarmouth, MA. In August 1643 Richard was on the list of men "able to bear arms". On October 26, 1647 the committee on Indian Affairs met at Richard's house on Quivet Neck. He was admitted freeman on June 7, 1652 and served as a Grand Juror that same year. He served as Constable in 1660 and Deputy to Plymouth General Court in 1662.Children:
