David served in Albany County's 9th Regiment NY Militia during the Revolutionary War. In 1790 David was living in Hillsdale, NY along with 1 male over 16, 2 males 16 or younger, & 3 females. He was living 13 households away from Stephen Crossman, who had 2 females in his household. In 1800 they had 1 m 11-16y and 1 f 17-26y in residence. In 1810 there were no children living in the household. To date no birth record has been found for David. In 1790 the following Crossman families were living in western MA and Eastern NY: Phineas, living in Granville, MA, along with 1 male over 16, 1 male 16 or younger and 5 females, son of Samuel and Mary (widow Gulliver) Crossman, was born July 31, 1707 in Taunton, MA, and died 1801 in Granville, MA. He married Lydia Shelley April 05, 1733 in Raynham, MA. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Alice (Goodspeed) Shelley. Captain William, living in Chester, MA, along with 2 males 16 or younger and 2 females. Elkanah, living in Greenwich, MA, along with 1 male over 16 and 3 females. Thomas, living in Coxsackie, NY, along with 1 male 16 or younger and 3 females. He was living 8 households from Titus Blackmore. Daniel, living in Half Moon, NY, along with 1 male 16 or younger and 3 females. Ebenezer, living in Hudson, NY, along with 1 male 16 or younger, 1 female, and 1 slave.
