Jeronemus, Geertruy
Family:Family History:Gertruy first appears in Rensselaer, NY with her young son Willem when she married Jackem Wesselse, the local baker. For a reason which has been lost in time, Gertruy did not get along well with her next door neighbors Jan and Volchje Van Hoesen and one day struck the wife. Upon appearing in court to answer charges of assualt and abusive language, she immediately regaled the magistrate with a sampling of her linguistic talents. This began an onslaught of retaliatory strikes by the Wessels. The first act was the erection of a pig sty in the neighbor's front yard. When the court ordered that the sty be torn down, Jochem - being the reasonble man that he was - drew his sword and demanded that the magistrate accompany him outside. Fines and confinement didn't sway the couple from their task as incidents persisted and included accusations of throwing hot ashes on the neighbor's house and at one point even occupying the house illegally.
