Family History:

Robert was a yeoman and lived in Salisbury, MA from 1642 to 1644. In September, 1644, an attempt was made to form a church at Andover, the meeting being held at Rowley, as there were not sufficient accommodations at Andover, but on account of a technicality the organization was not effected until October, 1645. The names of the first members, freeholders (as required by law to constitute a church), were Robert Barnard and Edmund Faulkner. Robert remained in Andover until 1663 when he relocated to the island of Nantucket, MA. On February 1, 1715 administration of Robert, Sr.'s estate was granted to Robert Jr. "after [Robert Sr.] had been dead more than 30 years."
