Not
all the BUCE family researchers will be interested in the BRESHEARS connection,
but I am. My great-grandmother Omie BUCE was a BRESHEARS. Not only that, but
- provided a single contested link in the BRESHEARS lineage holds true - the
BRESHEARS family can trace their ancestors directly back to the Earl of Bath
(England) and through a marriage to Anne Plantagenet, to King Edward the III,
and through him to the Emperor Charlemagne. (For more information on the BRESHEARS

The
BRESHEARS family intersects with the BUCE family via two marriages. Lillie
A. BUCE, daughter of William Riley BUSE, married Samuel Henderson BRESHEARS.
Lillie's brother, Charles Marion BUCE, married
Sam's sister, Omie Jane BRESHEARS.

Most of the children of Joseph Breshears and Prudence Henderson seem to have
been born in and around Bolivar, Polk County, Missouri.
There has been some confusion by other researchers regarding Prudence HENDERSON's
name. The confusion was explained by Judy BRESHEARS in this way: "I think
re: Prudence - this is where it gets complicated. Joseph's father was married
to Prudence Tipton. (He was also a Joseph). They lived near William and Sarah
Henderson and two of Joseph's sons married Henderson daughters. Just so happened
that Joseph married Prudence, hence the confusion. That is the way I have understood
it, anyway."
