Sarah Frances York, 90, Bucklin, died Sunday1 at her daughter's rural Bucklin home.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, northwest of New Cambria, with the Rev. Keith White and Dr. B. D. Howell officiating. Burial will be in Cash Cemetery, also northwest of New Cambria. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Gilleland & McElwain Funeral Home, New Cambria. Memorials may be made to the church or American Cancer Society.
Mrs. York was born July 12, 1900, in Bucklin, daughter of Charles and Corilda (Mikels) Saltsider. She and Joseph S. York were married in 1919, in Monmouth, Ill. He died Aug. 12, 1952.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Eldon and Ivo York, Bucklin, and Ola and Lou York, Kirksville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Elnora Christian, Brookfield, and Peggy and Roy Wright, Bucklin; two sons-in-law, Leslie Faulkner, Brookfield, and Francis Podzimek, Bucklin; a brother, Tommy Saltsider, Bucklin; a sister, Bessie Helton, Bucklin; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; two daughters, Bonnie Faulkner and Wilma Podzimek; a son-in-law, Bob Christian; a great-granddaughter, Tara Linn Simar; three brothers, Gus, John and Clifford Saltsider, and four sisters, Anna Akins, Martha Gass, Bertha York and Mary Walker.
She was a life-long Macon County residetnt, before moving to her daughter's home. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She had been a homemaker.
