Column 1Rites Held Today For Joseph York
Funeral services for Joseph York, who died Tuesday evening at his home six miles west of New Cambria, were held at 2 p.m. today at Zion Church.
Burial was in the Cash Cemetery under the direction of the Gilleland Funeral Service of New Cambria.
Mr. York was born Oct. 12, 1898, the son of Joseph and Dovey York, and had spent all his life on a farm except for a short time when he was employed by a railroad. He was a veteran of World War 1.
He was married to Miss Sarah Frances Saltsider, who survives. He also leaves six children, Eldon of North Dakota, Ola of north of New Cambria, Mrs. Wilma Podzimek of Bucklin, Mrs. Elnora Christin of Royal Oak, Mich., and the Misses Bonnie and Peggy York of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Green and Mrs. Anna Schneider of Bucklin; two brothers, John York of Concordia, Kan. and Henry York of Bucklin; three half brothers, Lawrence and Jessie Payne of Bucklin and Edgar Payne of Kansas City; a half sister, Mrs. Flossie Admire of Kansas City and five grandchildren.
