Harold Meredith York, 66, Brookfield, died Monday1 night at Pershing Hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Martin Barker officiating. Burial will be in Cash Cemetery, northeast of Bucklin in Macon County. Visitation will be 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield.
He was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Bucklin, to Henry Richard and Bertha May (Saltsider) York. Nov. 16, 1940, he married Juanita Rose Gross in Bucklin.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Ronnie Baker, Marceline; four brothers, Ray and George York, both of Brookfield, Charles York, Marceline, and Warren York, Kansas City, Kan.; six sisters, Myrle Cash, Brookfield; Vivian Wilhelm, Freda Wright and Wanda Ervie, all of Marceline; Doris Houston, Savanna, Ill. and Loraine Rogers, Anaheim, Calif.; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Regina and Doug Shultz, Kirksville, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harley and Harlin York and a sister, Alta Martinelli.
He was a member of the Chariton Ridge Baptist Church. He retired from the Missouri Highway Department in Macon County in 1977.
