Tressa Wright

Tressa Maud Wright, 85, of rural Bucklin, died Sunday night at 9:12 p.m., at her home in rural Bucklin.

She was born June 24, 1908, in Macon County, near Ethel, daughter of Richard and Mary Elizabeth (Lunday) Apel.  She and Warner Hira Wright were married Sept. 19, 1931, at Carrollton.  He died Sept. 11, 1980.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Freddie Dale Wright, Jan. 31, 1991, and two brothers, Carl and Richard Phillip Apel.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Eugene and Peggy Wright, New Cambria; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dena and Harold Peterson, Bucklin, and Doris and David James, New Cambria; a brother, James Russell Apel, Gallup, N.M.; a sister, Marguerite Slater, Marceline; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A lifelong area resident, she had lived in the Bucklin community since 1946.  She was a member of the Bucklin Christian Church, and its Christian Women's Fellowship, Dorcas Daughters Sunday school class, and quilters' group.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Louis V. Scudiero & Sons Funeral Home, Bucklin, with the Rev. James E. Webb, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin.  Visitation starts at 9 a.m., and the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Bucklin Christian Church.
