Funeral services for Gay Wright, 70, of near LaHarpe were held Friday, Nov. 16, at 2:30 p.m. in the Banks Funeral Home in LaHarpe, the Rev. Leo Gossett officiating. Burial was in the LaHarpe cemetery.
Mr. Wright died Wednesday in McDonough District hospital in Macomb where he had been a patient for seven days.
Born Jan. 17, 1892 in Webster, he was a son of Skelton and Hattie Kinney Wright. He attended elementary school in Webster.
He was married Feb. 6, 1914 in Burlington, Iowa to Lorena Mae Thompson, who survives. After their marriage they lived in Carthage until they moved to LaHarpe 42 years ago.
Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Darleen) Burkhart and a son, Deon of LaHarpe, two sisters, Mrs. Della Long of Bushnell, and Mrs. Elma Weir of Macomb; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
