LOREN WOODSIDE

August 5, 1930 -- June 14, 1993

Loren Woodside, 72, of Tennessee, Il., formerly of Burnside, died Monday, June 14, in the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born August 5, 1920, in Burnside, the son of Alonzo and Lucinda (Christ) Woodside.  He married Norma Jean Huls Oct. 29, 1949, in Carthage.  She survives in Carthage.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Lorna Utter of Monmouth; three sons, Lonnie Woodside of Bushnell, Ronald Woodside of Burlington, Iowa, and Mark Woodside of Macomb; one brother, Melbert Woodside of Plymouth; one sister, Mrs. Clair (Elsie) Bideaux of Macomb; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

He had farmed in the Schuyler County-Brooklyn area and was of Lutheran faith.  He served in the US navy during WWII.

Services were held Thursday in the Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage with the Rev. Ron Derrig-Green officiating.  The burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Basco, with military service presented by the Carthage V.F.W. Post 5117, and Carthage American Legion Phillip Hartzell Post 74.
