Column 1MISS NAOMI WHISENAND ENDS OWN LIFE
Young Lady Ends Life With Shotgun Early Sunday Morning
Miss Naomi Whisenand, daughter of Mrs. Adrian Whisenand on east Boston street, committed suicide by shooting herself with a shotgun, at 6:30 Sunday morning.
No reason could be learned from the family this morning for the cause of the young lady's rash act. Her mother was the only other member of the family up at that hour. She said the girl showed no indication of despondency and that she appeared to be in her usual good spirits.
A roomer staying at the Whisenand home saw the girl from his window and tried to get to her, but before he could get into the yard she had placed the gun barrel to her head and pulled the trigger. The top of her head was blown completely off. Parts of her skull and hair were found hanging in a tree overhead.
Miss Whisenand was 19 years old Sunday, the same day of her death.
She leaves her mother, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral will be Tuesday afternoon, Reverend Anderson of the Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will be at the Cass cemetery1.
