Molten R. Whisenand

Molten Rufus Whisenand, 79, long-time resident of New Cambria, died Friday at his home in New Cambria.

He was born Feb. 19, 1902, in Bucklin, the son of William Jasper and Sarah Alice William Whisenand.  On Oct. 12, 1926, he married Mary Ellen Vantine of New Cambria in Linneus.

His married life was spent in New Cambria.  He worked as a painter and carpenter.  His wife died March 23, 1968.

Whisenand was a member of the New Cambria United Church.

He was survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Darlene) Huber of New Cambria; one brother, Jordan Franklin Whisenand of Bucklin; seven grandchildren; and five great-greatchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Wright; one son, William Leon Whisenand; four brothers - William Rex, Gilbert D., James W. and Ledric; and three sisters - Mrs. Coatney Meldrum, Nellie Whisenand and Pauline Whisenand.

Services were held Sunday at the Gilleland Funeral Home in New Cambria with the Rev. Kent Hollingsworth officiating.  Burial was in the New Cambria Cemetery.
