Whisenand Rites To Be Monday

Mrs. Mary Ellen Whisenand, 61, died unexpectedly early this morning at her home west of New Cambria.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Gilleland Funeral Home in New Cambria, conducted by the Rev. Clark Hargus, and burial will be in the New Cambria Cemetery.  The body will lie in state at the funera1 home.

Mrs. Whisenand, daughter of Thomas and Hannah Jenkins Vantine, was born Nov. 7, 1906 at New Cambria and had spent the most of her life in that community.

She attended the local schools and was a member of the New Cambria Congregational Church.

She was married Oct. 12, 1926 at Linneus to Molten R. Whisenand of New Cambria, who survives.

She also leaves: Two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Wright and Mrs. Gilbert (Darlene) Huber, both of New Cambria; one son, William Whisenand of Macon; seven grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Lower of Marceline, Mrs. Jennie Fann of Marshall, and Mrs. Beulah Daume of McCook, Neb.

Her parents, one brother, Louis Vantine, and one sister, Mrs. Della Pate, had preceded her in death.
