Jaunita E. LeClere Welch, 84, of Carthage died Saturday, July 22, in the Skilled Nursing Care Unit of Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born April 3, 1911, at Elvaston. She married Harold Welch Nov. 4, 1933, at Carthage. He survives.
She is also survived by six daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Shirley) Haines and Mrs. Albert (Peggy) Mustain, both of Colchester, Mrs. Gerald (Judy) Allison and Patricia Byers, both of Carthage, Mrs. Glenwood (Sherry) Nye of Keokuk, Iowa, and Mrs. Rick (Vicki) Crum of Marquette Heights; one son, Gerald Welch of Joplin, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and five sisters.
Mrs. Welch was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She had retired from Memorial Hospital in Carthage after working as a cook for many years.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, in the First Baptist Church of Carthage with the Rev. Mark Ernst officiating. Burial was in Oakgrove Cemetery of rural Hamilton.
Memorials have been established in her memory.
