James Elbridge Wear
Tuesday in CarthageFuneral services for James Elbridge Wear, 79, of Carthage were held Tuesday afternoon in the Fecht funeral home with Rev. Leland Beck officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn cemetery at Colchester.
Mrs. Vernen Webster and Mrs. Leonard Miller sang accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Cutler.
Pallbearers were: Roll Wear, Edward Wear, Ross Wear, Roger Wear, Robert Wear and Jack Printy.
Wear died Sunday morning in his home. He had been in failing health for three years and confined to bed for the past 18 months.
A retired farmer he was born Sept. 11, 1875 in Hancock county to Alfred and Margaret Goodman Wear. On April 1, 1903 he was married to Mary Belknap of Joetta. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Willis Wear of Carthage, Roll Wear of Colchester, James Alan Wear of Dexter, Ore., Mrs. George Burton of Colchester and Mrs. Kenneth Burrow of Loraine; one sister, Mrs. Elva Printy of Carthage; two brothers, Charley Wear of Carthage and Grover Wear of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
