A funeral for former Keokuk resident Derek Shawn Andrews, 9, of Springdale, Ark., who died Thursday afternoon in Springdale, will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday in DeJong Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Ridgely officiating.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
He was born July 26, 1974 in Keokuk, son of Charles "Bill" and Marla Glasgow Andrews.
Survivors include his parents of Springdale; sister, Amber Moreane of Springdale, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glasgow of Springdale, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson of Montrose, Clarence "Andy" Andrews of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Marlene Vermillion of Keokuk; great-grandparents, Mrs. Helen Andrews and Mrs. Ellen Bryant, both of Keokuk, and Everett I. Doss of Tampa, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Russell Philp.
Derek died in Springdale, Arkansas on September 1, 1983. Accidentally hanged while playing with a rope and a ladder in a tree at a neighbors house.
